vocaloid
just watched this anime called Paprika, highly recommend it! it's one of the inspirations for Inception so expect some similarities. but more than the movie itself, i think the music impressed me. it sounded so fresh and new, and something really interesting came up when i read up about it.
the music was purely machine-made by a synthesiser called Vocaloid. the so-called vocals in the music were purely synthetic, there's no singer, but rather synthesised with just lyrics and notes. the vocals were collected from different singing frequencies... that is just pure genius?! the creator can input dynamics, vibrato etc to make the singing very realistic. there's even a name for this virtual singer... Lola haha! ....... i must be super slow to only find out this thing now!!
this is freaking cool. they even tried to recreate vocals of a singer who has already passed away. imagine a michael jackson track being released posthumously. little creepy. haha.
music made with Vocaloid is art, because every little detail has to be input. so cool!!!
