what do i know about rock and roll? just Elvis Presley. hahaha. after listening to Firehouse, i jumped to Richard Clayderman, Jon Bon Jovi, then randomly to Sylvester Sim (he looks much better now. still scrawny but less, his singing seemed to have gotten better, and he did this Adam Lambert medley which wasn't too bad), then just songs whose owners i have no idea... then Queen came to mind, so i searched Queen. I had no idea how they looked like.
Turns out, did you ever know Queen's lead was an Indian?! a true blue Indian from India. He supposedly had a four-octave vocal range. gulps. and if you ever 9GAG, he's that guy in the 'so close' meme. He's Freddie Mercury. He wrote and sang many of their songs, and had very flamboyant stage get-ups. Tight pants, cross-dressing, pink, the half mike-stand which apparently came about because the bottom half just fell off... he's also bisexual, and wrote a song to his first and only wife, 'Love of My Life'. Died of aids, when he was only 40.
his voice has a quality that makes him sound young, whether or not he really is. and he really has amazing singing skills and stamina!
Queen's most famous performance
Elvis Presley, I only knew him by face. only when i searched him on youtube did i realise he was really a very charming man, even by today's standards. Totally understood why he was the sex symbol. he had a deep singing voice, a very nice smile, the physique... when he was young, he really was handsome.
and above all i actually like his rock and roll songs! they are so catchy and all about the dancing/the high life/etc, and i can't help but think, isn't that one of the best times to be living in US? look at how those people are sitting so near him, that won't ever happen today, any singer would have been clawed to death at that distance...anyway he died from drug abuse at just 42. those times i think, are when many celebrities also died from drug abuse.
must watch to really understand his charm. he had a kind of bad attitude, a sense of humour, plus that deep voice for rock and roll.
