just once
there are many things i miss doing as a child.
1. taking the stairs. now i take the lift right at my door step. i used to love running down the stairs and jumping across the entire flight when im only halfway through the stairs. i liked to challenge myself, jumping down from less than half the flight sometimes. hahaha. that was so much fun~
2. watching my mum sew on a lazy afternoon. she hardly ever sews now. but i used to lie on the bed, watched tv while the whirring of the sewing machine buzzed beside my ear.
3. making random cards, drawing random stuff, writing random stories, creating random inventions.
4. looking out of the window, car-watch, people-watch, trees-watch. feel the wind coming in, breathing, feeling alive.
5. lie on the sofa at night, looking at the sky, just counting the stars. as i count, there seemed to be more and more stars. now when im home, i plonk on my bed and it's off to dreamland.
6. doing work diligently at my table. with such discipline. in such neat handwriting. tsk. look what's happening now. haha~
7. going for tuition classes, drawing class, phonics class, dance class. still rmb my first dance performance. totally no music sense. it was a mongolian dance. the girl behind me had to push me cz i didnt know when to enter.
8. listening to 95.8fm while my mum cooked in the kitchen. now my mum doesn't listen to 95.8fm, she plays her ktv songs. hahah.
9. waking at 4.30am to go to the market with my parents. helped to collect cups, wiped tables and chairs. ate prata and drank soybean/grass jelly for breakfast, without fail. bought lao fu zi sometimes from the newspaper man. slept in the van, went to school after that if its on weekdays. on weekends, i would pray at the temple before taking the bus home. that road, has changed so much now.
10. playing the same few computer games over and over again, simply cz there was nothing else much to play. i breezed through all the levels after playing them so many times.
