shenmue reflections

watched this a long time ago, but just rewatched it and wanted to share.

if anyone remembers the dragon boating incident a few years back where 5 canoeists died, this guy is one of them. he's really got talent, not many ppl can play by ear and create such great piano versions of songs. such a loss.

have u ever thought before that, you could have walked past this guy in a shopping mall a few years back, without knowing who he was?

as with all your current friends, perhaps before you knew their name and faces, you've met them somewhere?

one of those canoeists was my senior in sec sch. i hardly talked to him, but i knew his face and his name. I was his group leader for a choir camp then, i remembered him as the tall guy who had to squat very very low when i fed him with chilli flakes while being blindfolded. When the news came out, i could hardly recognise him from the photo in the newspaper, since i havent met him for years. my first thought was that it was a pity that i never got to know him before he passed away. the next time i would see after him sec sch, would be at his funeral.

How lives are played into the hands of fate.
