life's like that

i will be honest. i hate project work. knowing the kind of person i am, i hate project work. i hate project work. i simply hate it.

i think i may offend some people here. i dont hate anyone, just need to get some things off my chest.

i got a C for PW. that just goes to show how much talent i have for pw, if it even requires any. i opt out of accountancy, partly cz of project work.

because of this effective comm project, i had only one emotion - sian. or maybe another - emo. pw never fails to do damage to me.

right from the start, i was disappointed. with how grouping was done. an invisible line. that sentence was stuck in my head for days. i guess, i did draw a line. but the rest contibuted to it too, no? i must say i had been selfish, wanting the best for myself. then i saw the looks on their faces, saying they want to work together. thought to myself, i'm really fine. that was when 'invisible line' came in.

the tutor gave us the freedom to choose our groups. so i cant deny anyone of that freedom. i can't be selfish. but in retrospect, i would say selfishness isn't just on my part. i can surely say i'm right about this.

and respect. where did the respect go? tell me where you've been to and why you're late for the meeting. leave while the discussion is still going on. say something, so i know it could have been for a more impt reason.

nobody is really bothered about the amount of work an individual does. as long as work gets done. appreciation doesnt happen anymore. "hey, i think you've done a lot, let me take over." isn't a sentence that will come out from pw.

but from this project, i've gained a bit. i realised that it is possible to change one's thinking and implement your thinking. i talked with more strength and authority. it was in fact fun to try and get your idea across. it isn't impossible being in the same team with people with different working styles. it's just more inefficient and emotionally/mentally wrecking.

there were times when i could simply have been impatient and argued till i get it my way or till im happy with their justification for their way. i could have ruined a couple of friendships. i could have been unhappy and just walked away from it.

it is a tough week to deal with. 2 quizzes, 1 project, 1 computing assignment, 1 formal lab report. everyone is tired. everyone is stressed. productivity isn't expected.

if only we were all a bit more understanding.
