i wanted to find out how much i will earn as a chemical engineer...and i found this article dated 2007.

top 100 salary list

for monthly basic wages (that means gross wages minues variable pay (eg ot, food, transport etc))

TOP 5
1. Managing director - $20,000
(waaah.)

2.Commodities futures broker - $17,084
(hey that's what rebecca from Shopaholic wanted to be.)

3.Financial futures dealer and broker - $16,667

4.General Manager - $15,417

5.Foreign exchange dealer and broker - $13,024

in general, top 5 earners are BROKERS.





8.Specialised surgeon - $12,000

9.Risk management manager - $10,800
(for being in charge of risk, that is sure is some reward.)


16.Engineering manager - $7,543
(ah.)


23.Advocate and solicitor - $7,300


31.Editor (Newspapers and periodicals) - $6,798

32.Editor (Radio, television and video) - $6,776
(so cool, an editor earns THIS much! ranked 32! i never knew that.)


34.Chemical engineer (Petroleum) - $6,708
(oh man but i dun wanna do petroleum...)


41.Building architect - $6,400


42.Lawyer (except advocate and solicitor) - $6,300


generally, managers of commerce are among the top 50. next comes the engineers.

teachers, civil servants, public sector jobs are not covered in the survey. quote:

and man this person got A LOT of comments from his readers. headache.

all right i guess his info isnt THAT accurate...cz there are lots of things not included. from what i read in other articles:

GPs earn 5-digit sums, very very close to top 5 i mentioned just now. a stand-in doctor earns 60-70 per hour.

and theres a sec 3 guy from hc who is already asking what he should take in uni and what job he should take. err. go to hell.
