had a REALLY good laugh over admissions. had to obtain matriculation no. and fill up this form.
the form asked if u wanted to use edusave to pay part of the tuition fees. options: blank and yes. WTH?! where's 'No'??!! they didnt give me a choice at all!!
under marital status, there was 'unknown'. *raises eyebrow*
i was asked to choose race...man was i spoilt for choice. in the list, there was everything under the sun. including, Other Eurasian, Other Indonesian, Unknown (again), and Dutch Burgher. u serious, a Dutch Burger?
then there was nationality. oh even better, a really extensive list. including Pakistani, Pakistanian...wondering if anyone who picks that will be immediately quarantined. and an amazing option of 'Non-s,pore Citizen'. are they kidding?? then tell me what the rest of the options other than 'Singaporean' are there for.
and for CCA, you're expected to fill in the CCA u belonged to under these 3 categories:
1. Sports (eg *insert example*)
and then, Level of Participation.
2. Academic (eg clubs, societies)
and then, Position Held.
3. Competition (eg debate)
and then, Level of Participation.
where do i classify malay dance?! dont they have a category for that?! must everyone be either doing sports or in some club? by this time im like half convinced this form is a joke. and what do i put for level of participaion?! in the end i had to put dance under academic..
and then parents' details. ok, so here comes the nationality list again. and then education status. they have no JC in the list. but they have 'post-secondary' and 'polytechnic', after which is 'university' and 'professional qualification'. wth? isnt polytechnic n jc BOTH post-secondary? huh?
oh and there was one more. please indicate the no. of brothers you have(including deceased):
no of brothers: *options from 1-10, and >10*
no of sisters: *options from 1-10, and >10*
hello, ive got no brothers. i dont feel obliged to pick an option for the sisters part either cz i wasnt asked abt that. and >10? SHI XIONG DI!!
and beside the address, it was written: (Please leave your address to 150 words) errrr...let's say i have a really long address. so i cut it short and leave them to guess the remaining numbers.
oh man. i was convinced after i clicked 'submit', i would be brought to a page that screams : "YOU'VE BEEN TRICKED!! Please fill up the following form (it's real this time!) properly."
