ten years down the road, will we still stay the same?
been watching Proposal Daisakusen. the show's about this guy who never got the chance to say 'i like you' to his childhood friend until it was too late to do so. on her wedding day, he was given the chance by a fairy in the church to return to the past and redo what he could... it's really nice... though by the 7th episode i got kind of sick that he never got to say those words to her. but that's not the point anyway. around the 5th or 6th episode, they graduated from high school when they were about our age. they and their 3 other close friends still remained as close and did everything together in uni, and after uni as well. go and watch it, just those episodes will do. just reminds me of all my friends way back from sec 1. how many have i really kept up till now and still be really close to them? i can count with my fingers...
friendship never really does end, but it takes two hands to clap. if only one tries, it won't last. if nobody tries, it will ultimately disappear. if both put effort, it can be a prized trophy that you will be proud of putting on your shelf. it will be dated '200X - '. there's no end date. it's a reward, not award. it invokes nostalgia. it brings a smile to your face.
there are so many memories of laughter and joy, and an equal share of unhappiness and tears. there are so many things that touch, and so many things that hurt. there are endless thoughts and endless words.
how much of what we think is actually spoken?
how much of what we feel is actually conveyed?
one day, it could be a trophy lost and forgotten in a box filled with items of yesteryear, or it could still be shiny and as glamorous as ever.
we are kept alive by memories. so many people have touched my life, i would never ever want to forget them, or exchange them for anything in this world. they're just so precious, i wouldn't ever want to lose any. if only this will last forever.
